The children of Copper Cliff and area are the big winners now that a new playground structure is open at Copper Cliff Public School.
The new structure was unveiled to the public Thursday evening at the public school, located at 50 School St. in Copper Cliff.
The new playground equipment became a reality thanks to the hard work of the school council and numerous sponsors, including Inco Ltd., the City of
Greater Sudbury and Rainbow District School Board, said school principal Judy Noble.
The school council raised $40,000 for the community playground over the past three years, through donations from local businesses, municipal groups and the friends and families of Copper Cliff Public School.
The Copper Cliff Community Playground is a shining example of the good things that can happen when everyone in the community works together towards a common goal, said Noble.
Those in attendance at Thursday?s official ribbon-cutting ceremony, included Greater Sudbury Mayor David Courtemanche, Rainbow District School Board Trustee Gord Santala, and Inco Public Affairs Manager, Cory McPhee.
