Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, Science North’s annual fundraising Bluecoat Ball had to be cancelled.

Instead, the popular science centre created a new fundraiser, the online Bluecoat Box event.

Science North’s annual fundraising event shifts this year from an in-person Bluecoat Ball to an online Bluecoat Box event.

You also receive an evening “immersive virtual experience” featuring live entertainment, Indigenous knowledge features, prizes draws and more.

The inaugural Bluecoat Box event is inspired by Science North’s latest special exhibition: Indigenous Ingenuity - An Interactive Adventure. Celebrating the ever-evolving world of Indigenous innovation.

But what’s in that box, you might be wondering? Well, Larose explained that Science North supported Indigenous-owned businesses from across the country by purchasing with which to pack the box.

Given that the fundraising will support outreach to Indigenous communities, the
