Science NorthÂ?s new porcupine Quillan is off to Toronto tomorrow to meet the Queen.

The science centre is taking part in the Festival of Ontario at the National Trade Centre on Wednesday in honour of Queen ElizabethÂ?s Golden Jubilee. The festival takes place between 4 and 8 pm, during which time the Queen and Prince Philip will walk through the building to view displays showcasing OntarioÂ?s growth and development during the 50 years of the QueenÂ?s reign.

The Queen met Science NorthÂ?s original porcupine Ralf in 1984 when she officially opened the science centre during a visit to Sudbury. Ralf died last year at the age of 17; coincidentally, Quillan was exactly the same age Ralf was when he was introduced to the Queen.
