Science North reopens this morning after a water line break causing extensive flooding at the science centre last Wednesday.

“On behalf of our Board I want to thank all of the Science North staff, our service providers and contractors who pulled together for the safety and cleanliest for our visitors,” said Science North CEO Guy Labine, in a press release.

“I also want to thank them for their speed and professionalism in ensuring we are fully operational.”

“The support from the community has been wonderful and we appreciate the understanding of our visitors,” said board chair Scott Lund.

The eight-inch water line supplying Science North broke causing extensive flooding and damages to the link between the main lobby and the small snowflake. Over the past three days, clean up and repairs have been ongoing 24 hours a day.

The support and work from the supplier partners has allowed Science North to deal with this extensive challenge and allow visitors to return quickly to Science North, said the press release.
