Science North?s CEO member of province?s $100,000 club

Last week, the province released its annual list of public sector workers who earned six figures as mandated by provincial legislation that has been in place since 1986.

Four employees of Science North joined the exclusive civil servant $100,000 club. They include CEO Jim Marchbank, who earned a salary of $150,894,
director of business development Guy Labine ($106,376), director of corporate services Carolyn Thain ($107,164) and director of business operations Brenda Tremblay ($104,856).

Several members of the Crown attorney?s office in Greater Sudbury made the list of public sector workers who made more than $100,000 in 2004.

Thomas Fitzgerald, regional director of Crown operations for northeastern Ontario, earned a salary of $188,153.

Greater Sudbury?s Crown attorney John Luczak earned $172,917. Assistant Crown attorneys Roberta Bald ($103,116), Susan Bruce ($138,803), Diana Fuller ($178,751), Fran Howe ($126,439), Marc Huneault ($153,481), Alex Kurke ($112,124), Karen Lische ($109,987), Andrew Slater ($154, 300), Susan Stothart ($120,875), Len Walker ($154,300), and Philip Zylberberg ($154,300), all earned six figures.

Members of the local judiciary, like all judges in Ontario, received significant pay raises in 2004 with their base salary increasing from $187,000 in 2003 to just over $253,000 last year. Members of the local judiciary include Justices William Fitzgerald, Louise Gauthier, Normand Glaude, Andre Guay, Richard Humphrey, Randall Lalande, Guy Mahaffy and Yvon Renaud.
