Young girls and nonbinary people interested in science, engineering, technology and the trades have been invited to attend a free event at Collège Boréal on May 31.
The 26th Annual Science, Engineering, Technology and Trades Olympics is tailored to those who identify as girls and nonbinary in Grades 4-7.

Participants will work in small teams of five to six members, engaging in four hands-on experiments from various disciplines in science, engineering, trades and technology.
Each team will be scored based on teamwork, participation, planning, documentation, ingenuity, and creativity.
By the end of the day, all participants receive a certificate of participation and medals will be awarded to members of winning teams.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and includes pizza lunch and a snack for all participants.
This event is part of Women in Science and Engineering Sudbury’s ongoing efforts to promote and support those who identify as females and nonbinary, and other underrepresented groups in considering and pursuing careers in science, engineering, technology and trades.
