MPP Jamie West is bringing attention to the second annual Sudbury Good Neighbour Awards for this year. West would like to recognize notable Sudburians who exemplified selflessness, tenacity and/or commitment to the community of Sudbury, the press release said.

“Let's celebrate big and small victories, and recognize the people who don't always get enough appreciation,” West said in the press release.

The “Good Neighbours Awards” is reserved for people within the Riding of Sudbury, from all fields of endeavour and backgrounds.

Some examples of nominations are education workers who have gone above and beyond for students, a person or institution who actively gives to vulnerable communities in Sudbury, or a friendly neighbour who consistently picks up groceries for senior citizens.

The office will not accept nominations from people who nominate themselves or political figures.

To nominate a deserving Sudburian, please fill out an online nomination form.

The nominations will be accepted until Jan. 22 and winners will be announced in February until March. Winners will be recognized virtually and with a prize.
