Nickel Belt MP Marc Serré is highlighting two funding opportunities that small businesses and tourism operators can access to provide relief in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Serré said in a news release the program for small businesses will help business owners expand their digital presence and reach new customers. The application period for the Canada Digital Adoption Program opened July 8. Applications are accepted until Aug. 6 at 5:59 p.m.

The first stream of CDAP is a $$336.8 million fund to help businesses expand their digital presence. The funding is aimed to support small businesses in digital endeavors and e-commerce platforms.

The federal government has also created a guide on how to grow a business online for small businesses to reference when applying for CDAP, Serré said.

For tourism operators, the federal government has created the Tourism Relief Fund. The $500 million fund is available for operators to adapt their enterprises to new public health measures.

The funding is administered by Canada’s regional development agencies (RDAs), where information on applying for funding can be found.
