ICYMI: Proposed 3.8% police budget hike is mostly wages:

Kids Caring for Kids: Lockerby students canvassing Wednesday night:

A long-standing tradition of caring will continue on Wednesday, Oct. 26, when the students and staff of Lockerby Composite School canvass the city and surrounding communities from 6-9 p.m. Read the full story here.

Sudbury Hydro starts tree trimming this week:

Greater Sudbury Hydro contractors are beginning annual tree trimming this week, starting south of Countryside Arena and along Long Lake Road toward Sunnyside Road. Check back with Sudbury.com for information on when GSH will be in your neighbourhood.

ICYMI: Jail time and fines for two Atlas Copco fraudsters:

Two men found guilty in Sudbury's largest fraud case were sentenced to 6.5 years, and five years jail time respectively, for defrauding the mining supply company Atlas Copco of more than $22 million over several years. Read Sudbury.com reporter Jonathan Migneault's story here.

Expect delays on Skead Road starting Thursday:

Paving operations will see lane reductions on Skead Road, Oct. 27 to Nov. 4. Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 7. p.m. Drivers are encouraged to plan for traffic delays.
