Busy weekend at Walden Cross-Country Fitness Club:

The Walden Cross-Country Fitness Club is hosting a couple of events this weekend. Starting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, girls aged eight to 18 years old interested in competitive sports are invited to take part in the Fast and Female Champ Chat at the Naughton Community Centre. On Sunday, Jan. 22, the Walden Cross-Country Fitness Club hosts the annual Wooly Hippo Invitational cross-country ski race, kicking off at 11 a.m.

Pipe band honours Robbie Burns Saturday night:

The Laurentian University Pipe Band and Dancers is celebrating its 10th anniversary this Saturday evening with its annual Robbie Burns Ceilidh. The event, honouring the life and poetry of 18th century Scottish poet Robert Burns, takes place starting at 6 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 76 on Weller Street in Minnow Lake.

Saturday at Cambrian sure to be a slam dunk:

Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? The Cambrian Athletic Association will be having a Kids Day this Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Golden Shield women’s basketball game. Check out everything that's going on at Cambrian here.

Last call at Solid Gold this Sunday:

Solid Gold VIP Lounge will close its doors for the final time on Jan. 22. The adult entertainment venue (a.k.a. a strip club) — which infamously is located off of Falconbridge Road, next door to local English Catholic high school St. Charles College — has been a Sudbury institution for the past 27 years.
