The second annual Sling-Choker SISU Family Walk, taking place Saturday, Sept. 30, raises funds to promote fitness at Finlandia Village.
Put on by the Finlandia SISU Foundation, money raised through the event will assist in blazing new outdoor trails and support the expansion of a well-position program of fitness available at Finlandia Village.
Participants can choose between a 10-kilometre walk that starts at Lasalle Secondary School at or a three-kilometre walk that starts at Finlandia Village.
Walkers join forces at Second Avenue and Bancroft Drive to complete the last part of the trek to Finlandia Village.
Registration for both events starts at 10:15 a.m. (at the two respective starting points), with both walks kicking off at 11 a.m.
That's followed by remarks and a Finnish lunch at 12:15 p.m. at Finlandia.
