Residents might experience delay as crews dig out downtown area

The city will perform snow removal in downtown Sudbury next week to widen traffic lanes and improve access to parking.

The work will take place from Feb. 19-26, with crews working midnight to 8 a.m. in each scheduled area, depending on weather conditions.

Residents may experience some traffic delays, Greater Sudbury said in a news release Friday. 

“In order to facilitate snow removal, please ensure vehicles are not parked on the street overnight to prevent towing,” the release said. “Snow removal in the downtown areas of surrounding communities has been ongoing as needed and will continue to maintain lane widths and sight lines.”

The snow removal schedule in downtown Sudbury is as follows:

  • Feb. 19: Elm Street, from Paris Street to Frood Road; Durham Street, from Elgin Street to Beech Street
  • Feb. 20: Elm Street, from Frood Road to Simcoe Street; Larch Street, from Elgin Street to Paris Street
  • Feb. 21:  Elgin Street, from St-Anne Road to Minto Street; Minto Street, from Elgin Street to Larch Street
  • Feb. 22: Beech Street, from Durham Street to Frood Road; Cedar Street, from Paris Street to Elgin Street
  • Feb. 25: Notre Dame Avenue, from St-Anne Road to Elm Street; Paris Street, from Elm Street to Boland Avenue
  • Feb. 26: Paris Street, from Boland Avenue to Regent Street
