Snowmobilers will be revving up their engines and collecting pledges in anticipation of the annual Snowarama for Easter Seals Kids, set for Saturday, Feb. 8 at Whitewater Park in Azilda.

Participants will enjoy an exhilarating day riding along a series of picturesque, groomed trails knowing the funds they have raised will make a difference in the life of a child with a physical disability.

Â?This event gives the snowmobile community an opportunity to give back while doing what they love,Â? said Leane Koskela, fundraising co-ordinator for the Easter Seal Society of Ontario.

With a minimum pledge of $25, riders will have the option of going on a guided run or they can ride on their own.

Rather than having a specific time where riders have to register, pledges will be collected from 9 am to 3 pm. However, if riders want to take part in the guided run, they must be at the park by 9:30 am.

Since 1975, Snowarama has raised more than $15 million across Ontario. In the Sudbury area more than 225 Easter Seal families will benefit from the proceeds.

The eight local snowmobile clubs are involved in this event.
