Thursday's powerful thunderstorm did a lot of damage around Greater Sudbury. Thousands of people are still without power as a result of the punishing high winds. Houses and cars have been damaged by fallen trees and hail.
But one Azilda man came home to find something rather unusual in his backyard yesterday.
Gerry LaRocque rushed home from Sudbury, perhaps fearing he would find his home damaged. He didn't, though he said many of his neighbours weren't so lucky.
But when he went into his backyard, a surprise awaited him.
"Well, I came home early from Sudbury yesterday after the storm to find our power out in Azilda and a boat in my back yard," he wrote to Sudbury.com.
That's not a typo. A boat.
"To my surprise, the neighbour's metal boat flew over a metal fence, gouging our lawn and landing upright."
From the photos, the boat doesn't appear to be damaged.
