Daycare centres located in schools with area school boards will be closed until April 5.

It was announced March 12 that all publicly funded schools in the province will be closed for two weeks following March Break.

The Rainbow Board said the Centre for Education on Wembley Drive and the newly constructed soccer dome near Lasalle Secondary will also be closed.

“As always, the health and safety of students and staff is our first and foremost priority,” said Norm Blaseg, director of education for Rainbow, in a news release.

School boards said over the next three weeks, cleaning crews will be conducting thorough cleansing of schools.

“We are aware that this situation is difficult for many families,” said Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l'Ontario in its statement. “We thank you for your patience and co-operation during this period.”
