Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a fire that caused major damage to a single family home in the South End on Thursday afternoon.
The fire service received a call at around 1:10 p.m. and firefighters arrived on scene to a fully involved house fire on Sandy Cove Road.
Two people were displaced from their home as a result of the fire, neither was injured as a result of the blaze. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.
Smoke and fire damage to the home were both severe, and the damage estimate is $250,000.
"The fire was isolated to the home, no nearby property was damaged," said GSFS platoon chief George Lalonde.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and fire officials are currently investigating.
