The Southern Cruisers Riding Club will go to great lengths to pay tribute to veterans of war — literally.

The local Chapter 418 is gearing up for its 16th annual Ride to the Wall on Saturday, Aug. 24. The Wall is the cenotaphs of all World Wars located in North Bay.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and pay tribute to veterans, past and presently serving.

“The Southern Cruisers believe in family values and hard work,” said Troy Raymond, First Officer, SCRC Chapter 418, and a Ride to the Wall committee member.

“To instill this, our chapter and our affiliate chapters do just that by traveling far distances to support this cause in Greater Sudbury. This event is not only open to motorcycles, as we have a bus that makes the journey to North Bay and back again.”

If you would like to attend and help make this the best year ever, the club will meet at Falconbridge Legion Branch 336, located at 66 Edison Rd. Registration is from 9-9:45 a.m. Cost is $25 per person (ceremony, lite lunch, supper, DJ included).

“Southern Cruisers Chapter 418 Nickel Centre is very thankful for all of our sponsors. Without them this event could not happen,” said Raymond.

All proceeds go directly to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 336 in Falconbridge and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 in North Bay.
