The Ontario SPCA is seeking information from the public about a dead dog that was discovered on the roof of a business in Lively.

On Sept. 28, the Ontario SPCA received information that the body of a dog was found on the roof of a business on Regional Road 24, near Old Highway 17. The body of the dog was inside a black garbage bag.

The length of time that the body was on the roof is unknown, but it is suspected to have been there for over a month. It is believed the dog was small to medium-sized and black and/or brown in colour.

“Our investigation at this time is to find out if this was an act of animal cruelty,” said Lynn Michaud, senior inspector, Ontario SPCA, in a press release. “If you witnessed anything unusual in that area or have any information related to this situation, please come forward.”

Anyone with information that could assist in this investigation is asked to call the Ontario SPCA animal cruelty hotline at 705-310-SPCA (7722), or email [email protected]. All calls are confidential.
