Due to ongoing construction, and to ensure the safety of construction workers, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, Greater Sudbury is reducing the speed limit to 40 km/h along construction zones on The Kingsway beginning Tuesday.

The reduced speed limit will continue until the work is completed, sometime around Nov. 17.

“Drivers are reminded that the reduced speed limit in this construction zone may be enforced by Greater Sudbury Police at any time of day,” the city said in a news release.

“When workers are present in the designated construction zone, the fine for speeding doubles.”
