The 30C sun didn’t scare people from coming out to the Stack Brewing parking lot party and mini microbrew festival. Music could be heard from the other end of the parking lot and people were walking around sampling various beers and food from different vendors.

There were roughly nine vendors involved with the event, ranging from beer vendors like Gateway City Brewery, New Ontario Brewing Co., Sawdust City Brewery, and 46 North Brewing Co and Local distillery Crosscut Distillery was also there serving refreshing cocktails.

A local vegan restaurant Beaucoup Plant-Based was also there as a food vendor to serve vegan mushroom bao buns to kimchi hot dogs. Mucho Burrito was also there to serve food as a vendor.

The vendors and people were there to celebrate the ninth anniversary of Stack Brewing. Each year they throw a celebration with the community and take this opportunity to give back as well.

“Every year we try to showcase a charity. We've always done it in the past,” Shawn Mailloux, owner of Stack Brewing and organizer for the event, told Sudbury.com. Mailloux was seated in the barbershop vendor hosted by Collective Haus when he spoke with Sudbury.com.

As Jimmy Giroux, barber with Collective Haus, was giving Mailloux a haircut for the occasion, snips of hair fell on Mailloux’s face as he told Sudbury.com more about the charity donation this year.

“In the past, we worked with the Northern Cancer Foundation. So we just try to work with a partner and do a donation each year with our anniversary parties.”

This year Mailloux decided to donate to the NEO Kids Foundation with the proceeds from the event and Collective Haus was on site giving haircuts for charity as well.

“(I hope that people) have fun, get to try different things that they normally didn't even try. Like, you know, today. Beaucoup Plant-Based is here. I've never had their food. I heard it's really good and I cannot wait to try it,” Mailloux said.

Later on in the evening Local bands Justin James, Bad Hombres, and Harvey King and the Grindstone will perform starting at 6 p.m.

Beer tokens for sampling will be $3 for 6 oz and $6 for 12 oz. $5 admission at gate with a portion of proceeds from festivities going towards NEO Kids Foundation.
