Rainbow District School Board is reporting a case of COVID-19 in a staff member at Algonquin Road Public School.
The board said in a letter published on its website Oct. 12 there is no evidence of transmission at the school at this time, and the school remains open for in-person learning. Students and staff in the Grade 1/2 room in Room 12 have been asked to self-isolate until Oct. 18.
The latest case brings the number of cases of COVID-19 in local junior kindergarten to Grade 12 schools so far this school year to 41, although some of those cases are now resolved.
Cambrian College is also reporting another case of COVID-19 on its campus, bringing the number of active cases at the college up to two.
The individual was last at the Barrydowne Road campus Oct. 6, on Level 4, Section 2, said the college.
