Stating the obvious: There is a winter storm warning in effect

Environment Canada wants you to know the weather is bad out there
blizzard snow storm winter

In case you can't see out your window (due to all the blowing snow), Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning.

An intensifying low pressure area approaching the Great Lakes was expected to bring a rain last night. But thanks to a cold surge of Arctic air hitting the region this morning, the storm got kicked up a notch.

Snow will be heavy at times today, with expected accumulations of 10 cm by tonight, and another 5 - 10 cm likely to fall overnight. Snowfall amounts of 15 - 20 cm are expected by Thursday morning.

As if it wasn't obvious, prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
