Storekeeper threatened with knife in morning robbery: GSPS

The incident took place just before 10:55 a.m. this morning at a store on The Kingsway, and a suspect has been arrested

Threatening the use of a knife, a suspect entered a store on The Kingsway and stole a packaged desktop computer before fleeing on foot this morning.

This, according to Greater Sudbury Police Service, whose members arrived on site after the suspect had fled the scene.

Police located a young man who matched the description provided, took him into custody without incident and recovered the stolen computer.

The incident took place just before 10:55 a.m. 

“Information provided was that an individual entered the store, stole a packaged desktop computer and threatened staff by stating he was armed with a knife,” according to police.

The suspect, an 18-year-old man from Greater Sudbury, was taken to police headquarters and charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Breach of recognizance
  • Failure to comply with a sentence order

He will attend bail court to answer to the charges.
