Wolves visit Greyhounds tonight:

The Sudbury Wolves will pay a visit to their Northern Ontario rivals Wednesday night when they square off with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Soo. Be sure to check back with Sudbury.com for a recap this evening.

City council grudgingly approves $2.6M hike in waste collection costs

City councillors grudgingly approved a new garbage and other waste collection contracts Tuesday, but not before taking staff to task for a $2.6 million annual price increase. The new contracts will run for the next 4 1/2 years, until the city moves to garbage collection every second week in 2021. It replaces the former 10-year deal, which expires at the end of this month.

Only three "Evita" shows remain:

If you’d like to catch Theatre Cambrian’s production of Evita, you better get tickets. The last three shows are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $34 for adults. Visit theatrecambrian.ca.

One thousand tulips to be planted today:

Members of the Pine Street Community Gardens will be getting their hands dirty this morning. In honour of Canada's 150th birthday, the group will be planting 1,000 tulips where the old Pine Street water tower once stood. Sudbury.com will be posting a photo gallery of the event today.

Expect delays on Kelly Lake Road Wednesday:

Borehole drilling on either side of the road will see lane reductions on Kelly Lake Road, from Lorne Street to the Kelly Lake Waste Water Treatment Plant, on Oct. 19. One lane of traffic will be maintained. Work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Check out our traffic update.
