Storm knocked out power for 8,000 Sudbury Hydro customers

Updated at 9 a.m. Sudbury Hydro said 300 customers near the Barrydowne/Kingsway area were still without power as of 8:30 a.m. The company said it still had no estimated time for the restoration of the power lines in that area.

Sudbury Hydro said 300 customers near the Barrydowne/Kingsway area were still without power as of 8:30 a.m. The company said it still had no estimated time for the restoration of the power lines in that area.

A thunderstorm in Sudbury Sunday night knocked out power for 8,000 Sudbury Hydro customers. 

 

The storm knocked out power to three substations. Most of the affected customers lived in New Sudbury. 


Just after 10 p.m. Sunday night, the official Sudbury Hydro Twitter feed reported power had been restored to one of the three substations.
