Three Laurentian University human kinetics students were among 31students from across Canada to take part in the Physical Education and Kinesiology National Student Research Conference held recently at the University of Toronto.

This event, hosted by the University of Toronto?s Faculty of Physical Education and Health, enabled kinesiology and physical health students to present essays, literature reviews and findings from research projects ranging from the biophysical sciences to the social sciences and humanities.

Although this was the first time that Laurentian students took part in this event, their presence was noticed as LU student Marty Smets, from the Aurora area, won first place for his research project entitled ?Motor Unit Recruitment Patterns in Vivo during Human Leg Extensions.?

Also representing Laurentian University at this undergraduate student research day were Greg Mulligan from Sudbury and Jeff West from New Liskeard.
