A 2 a.m. RIDE check in Little Current on June 7 resulted in the arrest of a Sudburian along with two other people.

After the vehicle entered the spot check, OPP said officers were able to determine the driver had given a false name, which led police to search them and their vehicle.

OPP said the driver and the occupants were in possession of suspected cocaine and oxycodone, with an estimated street value of $430 and a quantity of Canadian currency over $5,000.

Now all three are facing charges.

A 29-year-old M’Chigeeng First Nation resident faces charges of obstructing a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid other than heroin), possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and driving while under suspension.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on July 29.

A 31-year-old Sudbury resident was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid other than heroin) and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

A 24-year-old York resident was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid other than heroin), possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of cocaine.

All three were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on July 29.

As there was no licenced driver available, the vehicle was towed from the highway.
