Sudbury Chamber celebrates local businesses

Ten recipients selected at 25th annual Bell Business Excellence Awards

The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce celebrated 10 local entrepreneurs and businesses on May 26, during its annual Bell Business Excellence Awards gala.

About 400 people gathered for the event, which has been held annually for more than two decades.

“For 25 years, the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce has honoured the achievements and tenacity of our business community through the Bell Business Excellence Awards,” said Neil Milner, the Chamber's chair, in a news release. “Every award winner deserves the recognition for their hard work, and we look forward to being able to continue shining a spotlight on their success.”

The award winners for the 2022 Bell Business Excellence Awards are:

  • Business Startup: Black Labb
  • Best Place to Work: Wat Supplies
  • Service Excellence: Kuppajo Espresso Bar Inc.
  • Non-profit/Charity Excellence: NISA/ Northern Initiative for Social Action
  • Small Enterprise: A10 Fabrication
  • Innovation: IRegained Inc.
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Amanda Thirkill, Amanda Thirkill Photography
  • Entrepreneur of the Year: Kyle Marcus, The Alibi Room
  • Company of the Year: Orix Geoscience Inc.
  • Executive of the Year: Chris Laking, Laking Group of Companies

The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce represents 700 businesses employing in excess of 27,000 employees and works to influence municipal, provincial and federal legislation affecting the business community.
