Greater Sudbury citizens are being invited to share their ideas and comments prior to the start of deliberations for the 2008 municipal budget. A community consultation is scheduled for Thursday, September 6, starting at 5:30 pm in the Council Chamber of Tom Davies Square, said a news release.

The Finance Committee of Greater Sudbury Council will commence budget deliberations on October 15 by reviewing the capital portion of the budget. The final 2008 municipal budget is expected to be approved by Council on December 12.

Further details about the 2008 municipal budget are available online at www.greatersudbury.ca.

Those wishing to present on September 6 are asked to preregister with the council secretary at Tom Davies Square.

Presenters are asked to limit their remarks to five minutes to provide as many people as possible an opportunity to share their comments.

A second pubic meeting may be scheduled if there is not enough time to hear all the presenters on September 6.

Written comment forms are available online at www.greatersudbury.ca or at any branch of the Greater Sudbury Public Library and Citizen Service Centres.

All written submissions will be provided to the Finance Committee of Council for review.
