Sudbury college offering free carpentry program for women

Collège Boréal will be offering a 36-week carpentry program for women – free of charge – in Sudbury this September.

The pre-apprenticeship program – which will be offered in French only – will include courses such as Carpentry Level 1 (basic), Mathematics 1, Health and Security at Work, and Plumbing–Integration Laboratory 1.

Upgrading and support services are available, and some students may qualify for financial aid.

The program starts on Sept. 17.

Established in 1995, Collège Boréal is a French language post-secondary training and learning institution dedicated to the development and growth of French communities throughout the province.

Collège Boréal offers a wide variety of programs and services at six campus locations and 38 access centres in 27 communities across the province.

Since 1995, approximately 120,000 clients across Ontario have benefited from College Boréal’s expertise relating to post-secondary education, training programs, immigration and settlement services, as well as employment services.

Furthermore, Collège Boréal has developed and implemented over 70 articulation agreements with other post-secondary institutions.
