Sudbury Dragon Boat team wins race category at Toronto event

Vale team raised more than $2,000 for Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

Vale’s dragon boat team, the Rio Dragons, participated in the GWN Challenge in Toronto for the first time last weekend and won in the industrial category for the Chinook Paddles Professional Service Cup. 

Vale’s team raised and collected $2,100 to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation while participating in the event. 

Rio Dragons has participated in the Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival for the past 17 years. At this year’s festival, the team placed first overall and were the top fundraising team, raising approximately $10,000 for the Sam Bruno P.E.T Scanner Fund.
