Sudbury's provincial election candidates are the first in the province to all sign on to the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Healthy Candidates campaign.

NDP candidate Joe Cimino, Green Party candidate Casey Lalonde, Liberal candidate Andrew Olivier and Progressive Conservative candidate Paula Peroni have all pledged to invest more to promote and support better health in Ontario.

“The Heart and Stroke Foundation congratulates the voters of Sudbury and each of these healthy candidates,” said Tom McAllister, CEO of the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, in a release. “We hope all provincial candidates will 'go healthy,' and so we’re encouraging all Ontarians to challenge their local candidates online.”

More than 100 candidates have signed on to the campaign already, with thousands of voters joining in the call for action.
