The Sudbury & District Health Unit is opening two public health clinics, one in Sudbury East and the other in Valley East, providing free education and confidential counselling services to men, women and teens.

Services also include information, education, counseling, Pap tests, low-cost birth control, pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted infections testing and anonymous HIV/AIDS testing.

"It's to provide sexually and public health services to the outlying areas (of Greater Sudbury)," said Helen Bosley, a nurse practitioner with the health unit.

"This way they don't have to travel all the way to the health unit on Paris St."

The Valley East clinic is located at 1679 Main St. in Val Caron. Clinics are held once every six weeks starting Nov. 17. Hours are from 2 to 7:30 pm by appointment only.

The Sudbury East clinic is located in Warren. Clinics are held once every six weeks starting Nov. 24. Hours are from 2 to 7 pm by appointment only.
