Sudbury in the running as barbecue capital

Greater Sudbury is one of 20 Canadian cities in the running to be named President's Choice BBQ Town.

Besides bragging rights, the grand prize for earning the BBQ Town distinction includes a one-of-a-kind BBQ party for the whole city, as well as a $25,000 donation to the President's Choice Children's Charity on behalf of their community.

Charlottetown, Kingston and Victoria are also in the running. Besides Sudbury, the only other northern Ontario community on the semifinalist list is Sturgeon Falls.

Voting for BBQ Town is conducted online until June 11. To vote, go to foodnetwork.ca/pc. The winner will be announced on June 14.
