A construction and demolition materials drop-off area is now available at the Sudbury Landfill.

The new area will be dedicated to receiving, stockpiling and processing various construction and demolition waste.

The Sudbury Landfill site, located on The Kingsway, currently has construction and demolition material drop-off areas in several locations across the site.

This new area will bring everything together is one easy-to-access drop-off location with enough space to accommodate future expansion.

Materials that can be dropped off to this area include:

• concrete bricks and blocks

• wood waste

• scrap metal

• cardboard and recycled paper

The city is evaluating options that would allow additional construction and demolition materials to be accepted.

The new area will be available to the public during regular hours of operation. The city has set up a live camera at the Sudbury landfill site so that residents can see how busy it is before they make the trip.

In order to maintain physical distancing, only four to six vehicles will be permitted onsite at a time at all sites. Residents should be prepared for longer than usual wait times.

Non-residents of Greater Sudbury are not permitted access to city landfill sites. Proof of address may be required.
