Ron Rinaldi kept a promise to his late mother and is $4.3 million richer because of it.

"We played them together for years and I just wanted to keep my promise," said Rinaldi when he claimed his prize from the Feb. 4 draw in Sault Ste. Marie this week.

Rinaldi, co-owner of Mid City Mazda, a title he shares with his son, will be retiring soon and said the $4.3 million would make it a lot more fun. In the meantime, Rinaldi said he'll be spending the rest of his winter in Florida.

"My wife and daughter are already there waiting for me," he said. "I plan to hit the golf courses and work on my handicap. I can see a few trips in my future and perhaps some work to the cottage."

Rinaldi's winning ticket was purchased at Korner Konfectionary on Barrydowne Rd.
