Sudbury Performance Group is holding an online 50-50 raffle as a fundraiser for the local arts organization.
“As a non-profit charity, we rely on opportunities such as our Shake, Raffle, and Roll progressive 50/50 draw,” said SPG vice-president Jessica Adams, in a press release.
“Funds raised from the 50-50 raffle will go toward our continuing efforts of supporting
local artists and giving them opportunities to be paid for their performances.”
The raffle is a new take on an old classic. Players’ tickets don’t just go into play for
the draw that they buy against; they remain in play for up to a year after their last purchase, and
can be drawn as a non-winner if they didn’t play that week.
If that happens, the jackpot rolls over. A higher jackpot means more motivation for people to play, and more money raised for Sudbury Performance Group.
Draws will take place bi-weekly. The group encourages supporters to take part in its Shake, Raffle, and Roll progressive 50-50 raffle. This is a novel way to help support Sudbury Performance Group, as well as local musical artists, and have a chance of winning some extra spending money for yourself, said a press release.
Draws take place bi-weekly beginning Oct. 25. Tickets cost $2 each, and can be purchased online here.
