The Sudbury Wolves recorded a 3-2 win over the North Bay Battalion Friday, on home ice at the Sudbury Arena.
The action began at 6:39 in the first period with a goal by Wolves centre David Goyette, with assists from Kocha Delic and Matthew Mania.
It was answered soon enough at 14:28 by Batallion centre Anthony Romani, with assists from Ethan Procyszyn and Luc Brzustowski.
The game was tied 1-1 going into the second period.
North Bay's Nikita Tarasevich scored the second goal for Battalion on a penalty shot. This followed a slash from behind while Tarasevich had been on breakaway.
It was the only goal in the second period and gave Battalion at 2-1 lead.
Sudbury bounced back at 5:16 in the third period with a goal scored by right winger Alex Pharand with assists from Matthew Mania and Marc Boudreau.
The game was tied 2-2, but that didn't last long.
At 10:18 right winger Landon McCallum scored the game winner for Sudbury on a power play, assisted by Jacob Holmes and Nick DeGrazia.
Wolves netminder Nate Krawchuk made 31 saves for the win.
The Wolves next game is at 2:07 p.m. Saturday December 31 at the GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie when the Wolves are hosted by the Soo Greyhounds.
