Wilma Tremblay of Sudbury took home $191,385 for winning the second prize in the Oct. 11 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I was at the store running an errand when I decided to check my ticket,” Tremblay told OLG Prize Centre staff in Toronto. “I saw the Big Winner screen but didn’t believe it. I asked the clerk for a printout of the winning numbers and took it home to double check with my husband.”
She and her husband were so surprised, they returned to the store to double-check the results.
“This is a real blessing,” Tremblay said. “We will have a nice Christmas and I will treat my family to a few surprises.”
She said plans to invest her winnings and set some aside for her children’s education.
The winning ticket was purchased at Cara’s Convenience on Lorne Street in Sudbury.
LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
