The Sudbury Women’s Centre is holding a fundraising raffle with more than $1,000 in prizes this month, and the first draw is July 25.
Proceeds from this raffle will support clients of the centre and “will help ensure its ability to offer valuable programs, and keep the Centre stocked with all the vital basic needs items that women may need,” the centre said in a news release.
“By purchasing tickets for this fundraising raffle, you will not only have the opportunity to win some amazing summertime prize packages, but you will also help those who continue to face difficult life circumstances throughout the summer months,” said Giulia Carpenter, executive director of the Sudbury Women’s Centre. “Each ticket that is purchased will help provide one woman in need with a month’s worth of necessary hygiene products, like shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, or soap.”
There are three prize packages to be won:
First prize package, valued at approximately $570, contains an Expert Grill 4 Burner BBQ, and 2 Leisure Line Adirondack Chairs;
Second prize package, valued at approximately $390, includes a Camping Cook Kit, a Zebco Rod and Reel, a Buff Brand Fishing Hat, and a Rapala Fishing T-Shirt.
Third prize package, valued at approximately $240, contains a Bear Kit Muskoka Chair, and a S'mores Roasting Set.
All of the items in these prize packages were donated by local businesses.
Tickets go on sale Monday July 25, and will continue to be available until 4 p.m. on Aug. 4. Tickets are only $10 each and can be purchased in person at the Sudbury Women’s Centre, 174 Douglas Street, Suite 201, from Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone by calling 705-673-1916, extension 104.
The winning tickets will be drawn at the Women’s Centre on Aug. 8th, starting at noon.
