Are you ready to feel good, while doing good? The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is launching a week-long celebration of women and wellness beginning March 8 to honour International Women’s Day (IWD).

Along with regular IWD client events, the SWC will be presenting a Feel Good Fest, encouraging women to Feed their Mind, Body and Soul through fun take home kits and virtual learning sessions. These initiatives will not only raise awareness and money for the centre to continue its work, but also provide engaging wellness activities for women in the community, helping them feel nourished in every sense of the word.

“We will be kicking off the celebration on Tuesday, March 8 with some special edition programming for our clients,” said Giulia Carpenter, SWC executive director. “We could not be more excited to welcome our clients back after so long. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that being immersed in our community is vital not only for our mental health, but for our overall wellbeing.”

Thursday, March 10 – Feed Your Mind

This event will focus on mental health and feature tips, tricks, and activities to encourage mindfulness and ongoing positivity. Feel Good Kits will be available for purchase for $75 that include at-home projects to help maintain a healthy headspace.

Friday March 11 and Saturday March 12 – Feed Your Body

You can also support the SWC AND local businesses by purchasing delicious dishes and sweet treats from local partnering businesses including Guilty Pleasures Bake Shop and Sweets by Ashleigh. To enhance the enjoyment of eating, we will then be joined by Dr. Diana Coholic on Friday as she hosts a live virtual mindful eating session.

Sunday March 13 – Feed Your Soul

The final day of events will focus on replenishing the soul through two unique virtual sessions, free of charge. Professional yoga instructors and music therapists will host calming and meditative sessions that will provide that final bit of nourishment to carry you forward. And you can focus on self-care with a Self Care Kit stocked with items to relax and restore both body and soul, available for purchase for $65.

Proceeds from the Feel Good Kits, as well as those raised through partnerships with local eateries, will benefit the Sudbury Women’s Centre and its continued efforts to support local women on their journey to overall well being.
