Sudbury.com Acts of Kindness recipient passes away

Lise Langridge will be remembered for her giving spirit and big heart

Many people will remember Lise Langridge as a leader, fighting for her colleagues at Pioneer Manor. Despite receiving a devastating cancer diagnosis, Lise opened her door to family members that needed a hand up, proof of her big heart and giving spirit.

But I will remember her as the woman whose smile lit up the room, even on her worst day.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lise on what she described as a "crappy day."

With a lot of help from a group of her closest friends and loved ones, Sudbury.com's film crew and I were able to surprise Lise at her home (with cameras rolling, at that!) as part of Sudbury.com's 12 Days of Kindness campaign this past December.

Her reaction was genuine and there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

I feel so fortunate to have met such a selfless woman who never expected to be rewarded for her generosity.

To Lise's friends, family and loved ones: I hope the video we produced will be a loving reminder of Lise's strength, warm hugs and kind spirit.

Much love.

Lise Marie Langridge (Dempsey) passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family on April 5. She was 61 years old.

She was a loving mother to her four boys, Tim (Tanya), Todd (Tracey), Trevor and Tyson (Carol Ann), proud grandma of her cherished grandbabies, Montana (Natasha), Dakota, Niah, Maddyson, Gracie, Dameon, Hunter and William, dear sister of Angel (Larry predeceased), Rachel, Darcelle (William), Marcel (Barbara) and Jo Anne and adored Auntie Lise to her many nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St., on April 17 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on April 18 after 9:30 a.m.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Church, 26 Kathleen St., on April 18 at 10:30 a.m.
