Health Sciences North Foundation, HSN Volunteer Association, NEO Kids Foundation and Northern Cancer Foundation have announced that Sirpa Ducharme is the winner of the July HSN 50/50 Cash Lottery for the North.
Ducharme of Sudbury takes home $38,695 with the winning ticket number #B-9164730.
“It’s an amazing blessing to win!” said Sirpa. “I’m still in shock! I am thrilled to be supporting this fundraising initiative and health care in the North.”
Sirpa recently purchased a trailer in June and plans on using her winnings to pay off the new purchase and possibly buying a sauna for the lake.
“Can you believe we’ve had our place on the lake for 21 years now and no sauna…I’m a Finlander!
“My late husband had a vision for a beautiful spot on the lake to share with family and friends.” said Sirpa Ducharme of Sudbury. “He worked very hard to make that happen and we get to enjoy the fruits of his labour. He passed away on June 1, 2016 of a massive heart attack at the age of 63. We all miss him very much. It was very hard to even go to the lake the first few years after he passed away. Now I can enjoy it even more with this beautiful new trailer. My whole family especially my grandkids have really enjoyed the summer there so far.”

The guaranteed minimum prize is $5,000 for the winning individual. Tickets can be purchased online at www.HSN5050.ca from the comforts of home for 10 for $10, 30 for $20 and 100 for $40. Residents across Ontario over the age of 18 have the opportunity to purchase HSN 50/50 Cash Lottery for the North tickets online for a chance to win. Tickets for the August draw are available for purchase until Aug. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. and posted on www.HSN5050.ca.
