With a new beginning on the horizon, Rainbow District School Board is seeking input on a new name and mascot for the K to 12 school in Chelmsford set to open this fall.

Students, parents/guardians, alumni, and members of the community are invited to share their suggestions by filling out an online form.

“This is an exciting time where students and stakeholders can make their mark on their community school,” said Director of Education Norm Blaseg. “All ideas are welcome.”

Chelmsford Valley District Composite School is currently being retrofitted to create a K to 12 school offering Kindergarten to Grade 8 (English Program and French Immersion) and Grades 9 to 12 (English Program).

Chelmsford Public School will be consolidated into the Chelmsford Valley District Composite School building for Sept. 1.

The school will also welcome Grade 7 and 8 students from Larchwood Public School as well as students in the French Immersion Program from Levack Public School.

The deadline for name and mascot submissions is Friday, June 26.

For those who do not have access to a computer, suggestions may be shared by phone at 705-674-3171.
