Two of Sudbury’s finest music presenters have teamed up to deliver a one-of-a-kind concert experience for the holiday season.

Jazz Sudbury and Northern Lights Festival Boréal have partnered to present The Sultans of String: Christmas Caravan! on Sunday, Dec. 10.

The event takes place at Collège Boréal’s concert hall.

Three-time Juno Award nominees Sultans of String deliver an exuberant performance featuring band originals, world-music inspired classics, and seasonal favourites to warm your heart on a cold winter’s night.

From fiery fiddle tunes to a Caribbean sleigh ride, this surprising and delightful holiday fiesta heats up when Sultans of String bring their signature sound to well known gems such as Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, The Huron Carol (with newly translated Indigenous lyrics), a djembe-driven Little Drummer Boy, a Feliz Navidad ska party, a Turkish twist on Greensleeves, as well as a Gypsy-jazz inspired Django Christmas, and a Rumba Flamenca-fuelled Jingle Bells.

Shimmering guest vocalist Rebecca Campbell (Bruce Cockburn, Emmylou Harris, Jane Siberry) joins the band for this special performance.

Tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door (HST included). You can purchase them online on Event Brite, as well as at the Jazz Sudbury office, Northern Lights Festival Boréal Office, Jett Landry Music and Gloria's Convenience.

Seating is general admission, first come, first serve. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar and albums will be available for purchase. Minors are permitted, accompanied by an adult.
