Sunshine List: More school board workers earned $100K in 2018

Director of Education Norm Blaseg is the top earning public sector employee with Rainbow District School Board.

Blaseg was paid $238,754.08 in 2018, only marginally higher than his earnings the year before at $238,328.

There are 200 employees at Rainbow District School board who earned at least $100,000 last year. That's up from 167 employees who made the list the previous year.

Blaseg was followed by academic superintendents Kathy Wachnuk at $224,570.78 and Judy Noble at $210,338.78.

Rounding out the top five highest paid public sector employees at Rainbow District School Board are academic superintendent Bruce Bourget, who was paid $194,925.89 last year, and superintendent of business Dennis Bazinet, who was paid $188,009.33 last year.

Sudbury Catholic District School Board Director of Education Joanne Bénard was the highest paid public sector employee in that school board. 

Bénard was paid $193,078.03, up only slightly from the year before, when she was paid $193,063.

There are 87 employees at Sudbury Catholic District School who were paid at least $100,000 last year. That's almost double the number (46) of employees from the previous year.

Superintendent of Education Nicole Bedard was paid $152,540.13.

Superintendent of Business Cheryl Ann Corallo was paid one cent less than Bedard at $152.540.12.

Rounding out the top five highest paid employees at Sudbury Catholic District School Board are superintendents of education Terry Papineau, who was paid $150,252.75, and Rossella Bagnato, who was paid $148,131.03.

Conseil Scolaire De District Catholique Du Nouvel-Ontario Director of Education Lyse-Anne Papineau was the top earner at that school board, being paid $235,960.55 last year.

Papineau was paid more than $30,000 more than the previous year, when she made $203,515.

There are 120 employees from Conseil Scolaire De District Catholique Du Nouvel-Ontario who were paid at least $100,000 last year, up from 87 employees on the list year previous year.

Superintendent of Education Robert Mayer was paid $218,433.97 last year, followed by Superintendent of Education Monique Chrétien, who was paid $195,712.13

Rounding out the top five highest paid employees at Conseil Scolaire De District Catholique Du Nouvel-Ontario are Superintendent of Business Catherine Modesto, who was paid $191,829.37, and Deputy Director of Accountability and Efficiency Stéphane Charbonneau, who was paid $170,111.60.

Conseil Scolaire Public Du Grand Nord de l'Ontario Human Resources Director Carole Audet was paid the highest wage last year for that school board, at $236,510.14.

Director of Education Marc Gauthier was second on the list, being paid $165,200.07, about $10,000 more than he was paid the previous year, at $155,206.

Superintendent of Education Barbara Breault was third, being paid $164,063.22.

Rounding out the top five on that list is Superintendent of Business Alain Gélinas, who was paid $159,330.82, and Director of the Consortium pour les élèves du nord de l'Ontario Monique Dubreuil, who was paid $139,004.17.
