Cupcakes for Cancer is back and has doubled in size.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, Alexis Fong will be at Salute Coffee Company in the city's South End (2195 Armstrong St.) with 1,000 cupcakes for sale.

Two years ago, Alexis baked 500 cupcakes for the first Cupcakes for Cancer and she sold out in a little less than two hours, rasing more than $2,200. 

This year, Cupcakes for Cancer is back and bigger than ever. Starting at 10 a.m. on Oct. 21, Alexis will be once again be selling handmade cupcakes with all proceeds supporting research at the Northeast Cancer Centre and Health Sciences North Research Institute.

The number of cupcakes may have doubled to 1,000, but they are still expected to sell out rather quickly, so plan to head over to Salute on Saturday to secure your sweet treets.
