Versatile Toronto jazz guitarist and composer Mike Freedman will be walking along the fretboard during a performance at Pesto’s at the Radisson on Jan. 16.
Dorland Music and the Radisson Hotel Sudbury are excited to provide a venue for Freedman to take the audience on “an exciting musical journey.”
Over three decades, Freedman has established himself as a sought-after guitarist in a variety of styles. From jazz to blues, R&B to pop, Latin to classical, “Mike's playing is defined by a lyrical touch and a deep emotional resonance that have made him a go-to musician for both session work and live performances,” Dorland Music said in a news release.
A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Freedman has released five critically acclaimed CDs of original music, with his most recent instrumental jazz album being named one of the top 25 jazz albums of 2021 by Jazz.FM radio.
He has graced stages at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Rochester Jazz Festival and the TD Jazz Festival, among many others.
“Mike's original compositions reflect his eclectic musical influences, blending traditional and progressive jazz with elements of popular music to create a sound that is uniquely his own,” the news release states. “Energetic, innovative, and deeply rooted in his artistic vision, Mike's music is a celebration of the boundless possibilities of jazz and its intersections with other genres.”
