On March 4, the Greater Sudbury Police Service will be hosting the fourth annual Polar Plunge, in partnership with KISS 105.3, Toppers Pizza, Greater Sudbury Police Services Board and the Sudbury Police Association.

The Polar Plunge allows participants the opportunity to jump into the frigid waters of Ramsey Lake in order to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Ontario. 
Registered participants will fundraise prior to the event and on the day of, will don their costume of choice to take the plunge into Ramsey Lake. Once participants take the plunge, they will receive various qualifying prizes and a complimentary reception will follow the event.

The top fundraiser will receive one return Delta Airline Ticket to be used wherever Delta flies from Canada to the Continental U.S.A (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). 

There will also be prizes awarded to the Best Costume and Most Spirited Team. 

Any individual raising $500 or more will have their name entered into a provincial draw for a chance to win two 100-Level Toronto Blue Jays tickets for April 29 when the Jays take on the Tampa Bay Rays. The prize also includes one night accommodation at the Strathcona Hotel in Toronto. 

Individuals who raise $1,000 or more will have their name entered into a provincial draw for two Toronto Maple Leaf tickets in the Maple Leafs Alumni Box for April 9 when the Leafs are hosts to the Columbus Blue Jackets. 

The prize also includes one night accommodation at the Strathcona Hotel in Toronto.

Registration packages are available at the Records Branch of the Greater Sudbury Police Service, 190 Brady Street.

Event registration begins at 11:00 a.m. on March 4, 2017 with the Plunge scheduled to begin at noon.
