The challenge was designed to foster entrepreneurship among students from the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts, and prepare them for future business success.

The Regional Business Centre, in partnership with FedNor, Sudbury Manitoulin Training and Adjustment Board, College Boreal, Cambrian College, Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, and the Province of Ontario, received a total of 55 submissions from seven different high schools.

The top four winners received $1,500, $1,000, $750 and $500 respectively.

Jason Dasti and Mike Chemawsky, from Lockerby Composite School, were the grand-prize winners with their entry, Wise Wear Clothing Company.

Wise Wear was also the recipient of the Purest Choice Award, an award given on the basis of the other competitors? votes.

?It?s not the money,? Dasti said. ?It?s the satisfaction.?

Dasti and Chernawsky are the youngest members of the Sudbury chamber, and are currently selling their clothing line at Tropical Breeze Tanning on Lasalle Blvd.

Their future plans for the clothing line are obtaining a trade name with their winnings, and opening a kiosk in the New Sudbury Centre this summer.

?Wise Wear will be worldwide,? Dasti said. ?I?ll learn as I go and expand as I go.?

Second place was awarded to B-Boy Bouillabaisse Concert Promotion, by Tylor Michel and Eric Rantala from Lockerby Composite School.

Third place went to K&K Wood Furnishing, represented by Kyle Roseneck and Kate Arkilander from Lockerby Composite School.

Fourth place went to Crystal Miron from Chelmsford Valley District Composite School for her submission, Online Tutor.
